1. Atlanta Falcons (+4) vs. New Orleans Saints – See Money Line Bet.

Next In Line

2. Miami Dolphins (-1.5) vs New York Jets – The Jets will be playing this one without CB Darrelle Revis and this will limit some of the things they are able to do defensively. A year ago, the Dolphins offense gave New York fits, mixing in the Wild Cat to perfection and wearing down the Jets D late in games.

We expect them to do the same on Sunday and also take a few shots in WR Brandon Marshall’s direction as he will be covered by CB Antonio Cromartie. This is a matchup which favors the Dolphins. Expect a close affair which Miami pulls out by at least a FG.

The Jets are also dealing with the WR Braylon Edwards fiasco which makes Miami a solid football bet in Week 3.

3. Baltimore Ravens (-10.5) vs. Cleveland Browns – We’re betting the Ravens will bounce back off their tough loss to the Bengals against the lowly Browns. The only concern is this week’s game is sandwiched between a big game against Pittsburgh in Week 4.

The Browns will most likely be starting QB Seneca Wallace and he should be good for a few turnovers against the ferocious Baltimore Defense. On the other side of the ball, the Ravens should get back to feeding the ball to RB Ray Rice in order to set up Flacco and the passing game, and this will lead to a more efficient offense. Look for the Ravens to win 24-10.

4. Detroit Lions (+11) vs. Minnesota Vikings – The Vikings offense is in disarray and Brett Favre lacks the outside play makers to keep things balanced. Right now it’s RB Adrian Peterson and nobody else. The Lions are playing competitive football and 1st round RB Jahvid Best has made a huge impact through the 1st two games. While you should expect the Vikings to earn their 1st win of the season, don’t expect it to be by more than 10.

Rounding Out the List

Cincinnati Bengals (-3) vs. Carolina Panthers – The Bengals are coming off an emotional win and are due for a letdown on the road. But luckily for them they’re facing rookie QB Jimmy Clausen in his 1st professional start and their defense should make things very tough on him. Offensively, the Bengals will most likely pound the ball with RB Cedric Benson which will set up Carson Palmer and the passing game. In the end, the Bengals will prove too much and win by a TD.

Dallas Cowboys (+3) vs. Houston Texans – This is a game of desperation for the Cowboys. If they lose, they’re not out of it completely, but an 0-3 hole is a tough place to dig oneself out of. Look for the Cowboys to play with a greater sense of urgency and the Texans, who are coming off two emotional wins, to have a slight letdown.

Seattle Seahawks (+5.5) vs. San Diego Chargers – On a neutral field, the Chargers win this going away. But in Seattle the Seahawks are a different team. The Chargers could be without RB Ryan Mathews and QB Phillip Rivers will be forced to put the ball in the air plenty. Through two games, the Seahawks have done a great job against opposing RBs. While Rivers will have success, expect Seattle to show more energy at home on both sides of the ball and keep this game close to the end.

Atlanta Falcons (+170) vs. New Orleans Saints

The Saints suffered a severe blow to their offense when RB Reggie Bush broke his leg on Monday Night vs. the 49ers. While not the play maker most expected him to be, his mere presence allowed the Saints to do many things in the passing game. His absence will mean a scaled down game plan and we expect the Falcons D to be ready.

On the other side of the ball, Atlanta’s offense found its rhythm last week in their 41-7 romp over the Cardinals. The running game was dominant and Matt Ryan tossed 3 TDs.

This week won’t be nearly as easy as DC Gregg Williams always puts together a sound game plan, but look for the Falcons to rely heavily on the running game which will set up the play action for Ryan. He’ll then be able to locate WR Roddy White, TE Tony Gonzalez and the other skill players and this will be too much in the end for the Saints.

Look for the Falcons to pull out the 24-20 win in New Orleans when the clock hits triple zeros.
