Each Saturday, we’ll provide one sure bet for the upcoming weekend. Since we’re new and getting a late start at this, many people may already be out of their respective pools with week one losses by: the Chargers vs. Carolina, or Indianapolis against Chicago. Or last week, I don’t think anyone saw Miami rolling the Pats in New England. So, for those of you still alive in your pool, or for others getting into new ones that are starting now, here we go.

Just a personal note before beginning. My philosophy in suicide pools has always been to hold the best teams in my back pocket until later in the season, if possible, and try and find alternatives until the pool gets interesting by week 6 or 7. For those not familiar, in a suicide pool, you can choose a team, say the San Diego Chargers, once in a season, so if you use them this week vs. Oak, you won’t have them going forward.

This week’s play will be the Buffalo Bills. They’re a nice team, at 3-0, although I don’t think anyone would recognize them as the class of the league, but they’re going into St. Louis and facing a team that’s on the verge of a major implosion. This week, hated head coach Scott Linehan, benched the starting QB in favor of back-up Trent Green, yes, the same Trent Green who apparently had suffered a career ending concussion vs. Houston last year while playing for the Miami Dolphins. This move led to public questioning by the team’s star running back and wide receiver and a lot of negative sentiment in the clubhouse. There’s too much distraction going on internally for me to believe they’ll put up much of anything on Sunday.
