Chargers 48, Jets 29.

The game should have been Chargers 48, Jets 10. Favre should have had 5 picks. Has the buzz of the football world finally died down a bit now that #4 has actually played? It’s a little more difficult when you don’t have budding superstar Greg Jennings to toss the ball deep to, or Donald Driver, or the rest of GB’s supporting cast. Honestly, it appears to be a horrible fit. Favre is best known for his deep ball and the Jets have no deep speed. Stay tuned.

San Diego is its own worst enemy. It’s as talented as anyone in the game. Unfortunately, they’re severely handicapped by coaching. No matter how brilliant AJ Smith is from the GM’s office, he won’t be able to save this team come January, and February, if the stars align themselves and they make it to the Super Bowl. Ted Cottrell’s no pressure defense just shows you can’t teach an old dog new tricks. He pulled this when defensive coordinator of the Jets and Vikings, which led to his being ousted from football for an entire year before Norv Turner, who’s had one chance too many decided to bring him back. If the Chargers get back to their blitz happy, pressure style defense of two years ago, they’ll be tough (remember, no Tom Brady this season); if they play as they’ve been the first three weeks, I wouldn’t expect too much when things really count.
