Last week’s pick, the Philadelphia Eagles, gave us a bit of scare, entering the 4th quarter of its game at San Francisco down 9, but after a furious rally netted them 23 unanswered points, they found themselves (and us) on the winning end of a 40-26 game.

For this week’s pick, we’re selecting the Houston Texans. As mentioned in our initial suicide pool posting, we like to uncover strong sleeper plays early on and hold the best teams (Giants, Cowboys, Colts, etc.) in our back pocket for later in the season when things get interesting. What a great opportunity to advance past week 7, and only use the one-win Texans in the process. The Texans head to Detroit this week, where it must feel like a morgue inside Ford Field. In a matter of 6 days, the 0-5 Lions dealt it’s 2nd best player, WR Roy Williams to Dallas, and placed its starting QB, Jon Kitna, on IR. Essentially telling the football world the season was over. In Houston, after coming so close vs the Colts in week 5, they finally notched their 1st victory of the season with a thrilling comeback vs. the Dolphins at home. In this one, they should get their 2nd rather easily. We see Houston from the get-go establishing the run – with Slaton and Green – and then using the passing game for big plays. Right now, WR Andre Johnson appears unstoppable. On defense, the front 7 can attack, and with what should be a nice lead, we see DE Williams and Co. making life miserable for back-up QB Orlovsky and his teammates. Play Houston this week and feel real good about going into week 8 with so many quality teams at your disposal.

Week 6: Philadelphia

Week 5: Carolina

Week 4: Buffalo
