1. Kansas City Chiefs (-3.5) vs. Was – The Chiefs are on a three game slide which has ended their dreams of the top seed in the AFC. However, they’ll get back into the win column when they head to Washington.
The Skins are plagued with in-fighting, a horrendous defense and poor play all around. That’s not a recipe for success against a quality Chiefs team.
2. Cincinnati Bengals (-6.5) vs. Ind – The Colts offense has become a shell of itself since the loss of WR Reggie Wayne and the O Line is getting Andrew Luck killed back there. That won’t get it done in Cincinnati. Look for the Bengals to easily cover the point spread and blow out the Colts at home.
3. Carolina Panthers (+3.5) vs. NO – See money line bet.
4. Detroit Lions (+3) vs. Phi – The Eagles beat a pretty good Cardinals team a week ago, but that’s their only quality win over their recent stretch. The Lions aren’t an elite team but will have too much firepower offensively for the Eagles D. Look for a close contest which the Lions win in the 4th quarter.
Rounding things out
Pittsburgh Steelers (-3.5) vs. Mia – This will be close throughout, as Miami’s D is solid at all three levels. But look for the Steelers to do enough to win by at least four.
Arizona Cardinals (-6) vs. Stl. – Arizona is a different team at home.
NY Jets (-2.5) vs. Oak – Things have been dark for the Jets over the past three weeks but these are the Raiders and the game is in the 1pm EDT time slot, which is tough on west coast teams.
Carolina Panthers (+145) vs. NO – The Saints are VERY good at home, but they’re a finesse offense that doesn’t like getting hit in the mouth, and that is exactly what LB Luke Kuechly and Co. will set out to do. Their attacking front seven is very good at neutralizing spread out offenses and will give QB Drew Brees problems. On the other side of the ball, QB Cam Newton is having an MVP type year and will continue his elite play in the Superdome. Expect a close one which the Panthers pull out by a FG.
