We were actually knocked out of the suicide pool in Week Five when the Bills somehow managed to lose at home to the Cleveland Browns. And the reason I say somehow is because Derek Anderson completed two of 17 passes for all of 23 yards! Our strategy has always been to try and find winnable games (Giants and Eagles were locks in Week Five) while keeping the better teams for later in the season. Unfortunately this time, it didn’t work out.

For those of you still in your suicide pool, our Week Six pick is the New York Jets. The Jets are facing those same Bills and coming off two tough losses.

Offensively, look for New York to pound the ball with RB Thomas Jones and RB Leon Washington. The Bills are down five starters on defense and don’t have the muscle inside to stop the run. This will do two things: wear down Buffalo’s defense and create opportunities for Mark Sanchez to utilize the play action pass to locate newcomer, WR Braylon Edwards and TE Dustin Keller.

Defensively, look for the Jets to have a huge showing after last Monday’s embarrassing effort in Miami. They will dominate an extremely porous Bills offensive line and limit Buffalo’s ground attack. They’ll also get after Trent Edwards – a QB playing with zero confidence – and force him into a few turnovers.

Normally the Bills play the Jets close; not this time. Expect a dominating effort by New York and an advance into Week Seven of your suicide pool.
