1. Maurice Jones-Drew vs. St. Louis Rams
MJD’s fantasy effectiveness is often limited because their porous defense can’t stop anyone. Against Seattle, by the time he had eight carries, the Jags were down by 27. Expect them to do much better against the lowly Rams and Jones-Drew, our top ranked fantasy football RB in Week Six, to easily eclipse the 100 yard mark with two TDs.
2. Thomas Jones vs. Buffalo Bills
The Bills are absolutely pathetic. They’re also missing at least five starters on defense. Expect Jones to receive twenty carries plus on Sunday and top the 100 yard mark with a few scores.
3. Steven Jackson vs. Jacksonville Jaguars
Jackson has done extremely well considering he’s the only player opposing defenses need to worry about. This week, they’re expected to get QB Marc Bulger back, and this should take some pressure off of him. And facing a mediocre Jags defense, look for him to top the 100 yard mark and score a TD.
4. Cedric Benson vs. Houston Texans
Benson’s one of the biggest surprises of the 2009 season and became the first RB in 40 games to top the 100 yard mark against the Baltimore Ravens. The Texans are hardly the Ravens. Expect another top effort on Sunday and another 100 yards with a score should be a given.
Sleepers
1. Knowshon Moreno vs. San Diego Chargers
Did anyone else see the Chargers try and stop the run in their last game? It wasn’t pretty. Moreno could have a huge game on Monday Night and is out top fantasy sleeper in Week Six.
2. Kevin Smith vs. Green Bay Packers
The Packers have some holes in the interior of their defense and this is a nice spot for Smith. Provided the game remains close, look for Smith to be a weapon in the running game as well as receiver out of the backfield.
Others We Like
Ahmad Bradshaw vs. New Orleans Saints
For as improved as the Saints are on defense, Bradshaw is playing exceptionally well right now. He’ll use his speed, jukes and toughness, and gash the Saints for big yards on Sunday. Look for Eli Manning to also target him on a few screen passes which could lead to solid yardage in this one.
Michael Turner vs. Chicago Bears
Turner had his first big day of the season on Sunday with a 97 yard, three TD performance against the 49ers. He’ll be given the rock at least twenty times in this one and pound the Bears all night.
Brian Westbrook vs. Oakland Raiders
Westbrook was eased back into the lineup against the Bucs but should be ready to torch the Raiders on Sunday. With the way Oakland’s been playing lately, Westbrook’s first 100 yard game seems very likely.
