Troy Aikman came out the other day and said that if the WR Roy Williams trade doesn’t pan out, it’ll be one of the worst deals in the history of the NFL.

And a colossal bust for the Dallas Cowboys.

I couldn’t agree with him more. In fact, I’ve been saying so much since the deal went down.

But I’ll take it a step further.

WR Roy Williams is guaranteed to be a bust because he’ll always be measured against the 1st, 3rd and 6th rounders that were given up to get him; a steep price regardless of what player is on the other end of the deal. But considering that he’s not a true No. 1, and will face enormous pressure in Big D to succeed – this isn’t Detroit anymore, the future doesn’t bode well for the receiver out of the University of Texas.

In 10 games with the Boys last season, he managed only 178 receiving yards and a TD.

That’s not even Patrick Crayton country right there, it’s worse.

Now I understand it takes time to learn a new offense and gel with the QB, and Romo was out for a short stretch when he was acquired, but c’mon, averaging fewer than 20 yards per game is usually what you’d except out of your No. 4 receiver.

In other news, the Bengals just announced the signing of DT Tank Johnson.

It’s good to see that Cincinnati is sticking to its guns in an attempt to bring higher character guys into the fold.
