There is no quarterback controversy in New England. Period. Cassell is putting together a nice season, and is showing some ability, but he will not replace Tom Brady. Not now, not ever. Tom Brady is one of the best quarterbacks to ever play the game of football, and arguably the best of our generation. He will be back in 09', and will have a great year because he is that good. And this is coming from a non Patriot fan. Greatness gets thrown around too much nowadays, but when it comes to Brady, it is true.

1st off, I don't see the Pats winning the SB this year, but if they did, they would have a very difficult decision on their hands. On one hand, you do not want to see a young QB hit the market who has a lot of good football left in him, but secondly, Brady brings more to the table than just his ability, numbers and SB championships. He is the face of New England and in addition to his still being one of the top QBs in the game, he generates huge amounts of revenue for the organization (apparel, season tickets, etc.) and they'd want to keep that in place. Also, who's to say that Belichick couldn't groom the rookie QB they drafted out of SDSU in the 3rd round this year to eventually take over when Brady is gone? I think Brady stays, Cassel goes, but only after the club franchises him and then trades him for a 1st and a 3rd, similar to Matt Schaub except with higher compensation.

U never answered my question about Cassel. What is the Pats wina superbowl this year with him. Would they keep Brady and get rid of Cassel? What would ProFootball 101 do?
